Fagor
Fagor CNC controls, drives & encoders — serviced & programmed by A1.
Fagor Automation (Arrasate-Mondragón, Spain, a co-operative in the MONDRAGON group) is one of the few makers that builds the whole chain: CNC controls, linear and angular encoders, drives and motors. The controls run from the long-lived CNC 8055 to the 8058, 8060, 8065 and 8070 elite families and the newer Quercus and Optima ranges, with 8060 and 8070 variants configured for bending machines.
Worth clearing up before you call: Fagor Automation and Fagor Arrasate are separate companies within the same co-operative group. Automation builds the controls and encoders; Arrasate builds presses and forming lines. A1's work is the control and feedback side, on whatever machine brand it is fitted to.
A1 does that work in-house. Jan is factory-trained on Fagor, so a control or feedback fault gets diagnosed properly instead of parts-swapped.
What A1 does on Fagor equipment
- Fault diagnosis on CNC 8055 and the 8060, 8065 and 8070 elite families — on-site across SE Queensland or by remote VPN anywhere in Australia
- Programming, parameters and axis setup, including after a retrofit or a relocation
- Linear and rotary encoder and feedback faults — where most 'control' problems actually originate
- Control backups before they're needed, and restores when they are
- Retrofit planning when a control is genuinely past economic repair
- Operator training on the control your shop actually runs
Common questions
Is Fagor Automation the same company as Fagor Arrasate?
No — they're separate companies in the same Basque co-operative group. Fagor Automation makes CNC controls, encoders, drives and motors; Fagor Arrasate makes presses and sheet-metal forming lines. A1 works on the control and feedback side, on any machine brand.
Which Fagor controls does A1 work on?
CNC 8055 and the 8058, 8060, 8065 and 8070 elite families, plus Fagor encoders and position feedback, on whatever machine they're fitted to. If your unit isn't listed, call — enquiries are answered within 24 hours.
My Fagor 8055 is old — is it still worth keeping?
Often, yes. The 8055 has been in service a long time and most faults on one trace to feedback, drives, parameters or peripherals rather than the control itself. A1 diagnoses first; if the control really is past economic repair and the machine's mechanics are sound, a retrofit costs a fraction of replacing the machine.
